The Foundling (Revised)
Photoshop
May 2009

Where has your mother gone little one?
Out to the violet sea,
Out to the silver twilight
Shores of eternity,

She loved you long before time,
Before the world began,
And named you a name of meaning,
No mortal can comprehend.

The foundling is a dragon, and in the twilit world they are the keepers
of time. He will be well cared for by the elf.

Hello,
I posted this his image a few weeks ago and since then I made some major
changes to it. Thanks again Veronica Purpura and Phil McDarby for your
very helpful comments to the original post. Also friends and family for
all of your help as well. It meant a lot to me when revising. My major
concern is that I have fixed the issue with the proportion of the elf. I
have been looking at this image so long, its hard for me to judge that
now. When going back to revise it I saw that I had a lot to fix; her
face, the background, and hair, originally I had spent so much time on
the dragon, I sort of rushed the rest of it. Looking back, I knew the
dragon needed a better setting to live in.

This image was done in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. I mostly used a
hard round airbrush, and I love the median filter, I used it quite a bit
on the background, I must have looked at dozens of photo references
along with reading up on proportion, figure and faces. Thank you Marta
Dahlig, I found your tutorials invaluable.

Thank you so much for viewing this .
